Capt. Wayne R. Witt, of Friendsville, TN, is Rochelle's owner and skipper and has been sailing the Caribbean since 1973. Then a novice to sailing, he was seasick before he got out of the harbor. Under the tutelage of his close friend, Dr. Bill Elliott he survived his first voyage and has been an avid sailor ever since! Following the passing of Dr. Elliott, Capt. Witt sought guidance from Capt. Jack Barron of Knoxville, TN. Jack has many years of Naval experience as well as piloting small boats. As Wayne's skill increased, he chartered until till 1987 when he purchased Mare Geaux. The 42' Pearson ketch really fueled his passion for sailing the Caribbean and introduced him to showing others the world of bareboating and boat ownership. Rochelle is permanently at berth in St. Thomas, USVI. As of 2011, Rochelle Charters has hosted over 300 charterers as guests aboard.
